I've added some of my favorite sites to the links section of the Coastal Ramblings blog. They reflect my technology focus and interest in technology news. I find the internet an amazing source for up to the minute breaking news on technology topics. The links include the technology section of Google's yet to emerge from beta news service. One really has to wonder why this service has had such an extended beta period, but the news overview provided by a wide range of news sources is unbeatable. Next on my favorites list is Slashdot, self described as “News for Nerds – Stuff that Matters” and I have to agree. The only downside to Slashdot is that after a story with a reference is posted the amount of traffic directed toward the referenced site often overwhelms it making it hard to follow up on the details of the posted story. They have a term for this called “being slashdotted”. Finally, I've included a link to Wikipedia, which is one of my favorites because I feel it really demonstrates the power of open-content collaboration. Business Week had an article on the “Power of Us” (subscription) which described Wikipedia as “a breathtaking example of the power of open collaboration”. Anyway, there they are. Explore if you like.

First Post
Decided to try blogging a bit. Business Week had an interesting article "Cover the Story Of Your Life" on the ease of blogging and some recommended sites. The story centered more on using Camera phones with special web sites to allow mobile bloggers to cover every detail.
Some interesting points made were that mobile bloggers with camera phones could get into areas and take pictures not accessible by TV crews or photographers with large amounts of equipment.
